And by the way, he Is both very animated and extremely serious when doing our mass. And our church is a family.

Best Catholic Church in Effingham.

Love this church, has the best preist in the world who makes you feel at home and he helps you connect with your faith on a more spiritual level. I have been going to St. Boniface all my life and I love it more now than ever.

I think St. Boniface, Fr. Martino and the rest of the parish staff do a great job of keeping the Catholic traditions alive, while adapting for the modern age and lifestyle. Long gone are the days where your priest could only see you on his time, on his schedule, etc. Fr. Martino literally gives you his cell phone # and tells you to call or text any time you need to go to reconciliation/confession. Where else are you going to get that sort of small town, personal relationship with your priest within the framework of the Catholic doctrine and religious traditions? No where. The church is modest, as the permanent church has not been built yet, but I think we all need to be humbled at times and come together as a community without the distractions of extricate carvings and alters dripping in gold. 4 stars only because I wish the location was more central but otherwise, it's a great church and the staff will learn your face very fast, ask your name and about your family, etc.

He is so personable and every week he reminds us of our beliefs and obligations. He is very knowledgeable about the Catholic Church. Everyone who attends does so with joy and love.

I have only lived here in Springfield since April. I don't know who the person was that gave less than stellar reviews, but this is by far the best church I've ever attended. Father is from Vietnam .

It works if you have nowhere else to go to fulfill your weekly obligation for mass, but the Parish is very modernist, irreverent wirh no sense of sacredness. The priest mostly gives feelgood homilies and border line heresies(particularly Americanism as condemned by Pope Leo XIII), rather than teach church doctrine.
